Add an external GPS position source to compatible Standard Horizon fixed-mount VHF radios for DSC and AIS functions.
The SCU-31 is a 66-channel external GPS antenna with an integral 49 ft cable. It decodes SBAS correction signals to provide accuracy better than three metres when reception conditions allow.
Key benefits
- Position data for safety functions: Supplies compatible radios with the GPS data required for DSC position functions and supported AIS features.
- Flexible mounting: Can be installed on its supplied base, on a standard extension pole or flush-mounted.
- Installation hardware included: The official package includes the antenna with cable, RA6054200 antenna base and three stainless-steel M3 × 8 screws.
Compatibility and installation
Use only with Standard Horizon radios whose manual or current compatibility list specifies the SCU-31. Choose a position with a clear view of the sky and at least 3 ft / 0.9 m from radar or another transmitting antenna. Test reception before drilling. The supplied base uses the marine-standard 1 in × 14 TPI thread; seal cable entries and any splice against water and corrosion.
